4.Anwendung
Chromium nitride has irreplaceable application value in multiple industrial fields due to its high hardness, excellent wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and good high-temperature stability. Its specific application scenarios can be explained in detail from surface coatings, hard alloys, electronics industry, mold manufacturing, aerospace and other fields.
In the field of surface coating
Chromium nitride is currently one of the most widely used PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating materials. Whether it is metal cutting tools (such as high-speed steel milling cutters, hard alloy drill bits) or automotive components (such as engine valves, gearbox gears), after depositing chromium nitride coating, the surface hardness can be increased to HV 1800-2200 (much higher than the HV 600-800 of traditional quenched steel), and the wear resistance can be improved by 3-5 times, which can effectively reduce tool edge wear and extend the service life of components.
In the field of hard alloys and ceramics
1.Hard alloyss: Adding 5% -15% chromium nitride to WC Co alloy can significantly improve its resistance to crescent wear and increase its oxidation resistance temperature, making it more suitable for high-speed cutting of difficult to machine materials such as stainless steel and heat-resistant steel.
2.Structural ceramics:Pure chromium nitride ceramics or chromium nitride based composite ceramics, with excellent high-temperature strength and thermal shock resistance, are made into heating element supports for high-temperature furnaces, flow guides for molten metals, etc. They can work stably for a long time in harsh environments above 1200 ℃.
In the electronics and semiconductor industry
1.Chromium nitride can be used as a thin film resistor material. By adjusting the film thickness and deposition process, chip resistors with high resistance accuracy (less than 1% error) and low temperature coefficient can be prepared, which are widely used in power management modules of electronic devices such as mobile phones and computers
2.Chromium nitride is often used as a barrier layer for metal interconnects to prevent copper and other metal ions from diffusing into silicon substrates and affecting chip performance. Its barrier effect is superior to traditional materials such as titanium and tantalum, and it is compatible with advanced 7nm and below process technologies.
